Who is this program for?
A creative learning program designed for individuals with special needs to explore digital art, animation, visual storytelling, and creative media.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Participants explore the full animation-making process, from character design and planning on paper to digital production, editing, music, and sound effects. They experience a variety of animation approaches, including hand-drawn animation, stop motion, and projects that combine live-action images with drawing and other traditional art media.
Classes are kept small, typically with 3–5 participants.
❋ What is the class size?Classes may begin with a short demonstration, planning activity, or hands-on art exercise before participants move into individual or collaborative animation projects. Depending on the project, participants may sketch ideas on paper, create physical materials, work with digital tools, animate, edit, and add sound.
❋ What happens in a typical class?No previous art or animation experience is required. Projects can be adjusted for beginners as well as for participants with experience who want to build more advanced skills.
❋ Do I need previous experience?In addition to art and animation techniques, participants can practice creative decision-making, planning and sequencing, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and independent work skills. We also support participants in developing finished artwork that may be used for portfolios, exhibitions, products, or other real-world creative applications.
❋ What skills can participants develop?Instruction is adapted to each participant’s interests, abilities, communication style, and learning pace. Teachers may use visual demonstrations, step-by-step guidance, choices, repetition, and individualized project goals while allowing participants to develop their own creative ideas.
